The Lexington
Fayette Urban County Government is working to make Lexington a more
walkable and bike-friendly city. Often overlooked and underrated,
bicycling and walking can be simple and pleasurable ways to stay
healthy while protecting our environment and reconnecting with our
community. Whether you are considering bike commuting, recreational
riding, or looking for a way to stay fit, we hope to provide you with
the resources and infrastructure you need to bike and walk Lexington.
Safe Routes to School
(SR2S)
SR2S programs work to reduce barriers to
bicycling and walking to school and encourage more kids to bike and
walk on a daily basis. LFUCG plans to launch two SR2S projects this
year.
