The Lexington Fayette Urban County Government is working to make Lexington a more walkable and bike-friendly city. Often overlooked and underrated, bicycling and walking can be simple and pleasurable ways to stay healthy while protecting our environment and reconnecting with our community. Whether you are considering bike commuting, recreational riding, or looking for a way to stay fit, we hope to provide you with the resources and infrastructure you need to bike and walk Lexington.

Safe Routes to School (SR2S)
 

kid SR2S programs work to reduce barriers to bicycling and walking to school and encourage more kids to bike and walk on a daily basis. LFUCG plans to launch two SR2S projects this year.

Regional Bicycle
& Pedestrian Plan

 

 

1234 The Lexington Area Metropolitan Planning Organization is developing a regional bicycle and pedestrian plan for Fayette and Jessamine County. Over 600 citizens responded to our on-line survey or attended public forums that were held in June.
